Let's be honest - for the Jewish nation to send our Jewish athletes to the 'olympics' (remember its origins) on the first day of Av, the start of the nine days of mourning for our holy batei mikdash, etc. (the saddest time in the Jewish calendar), and erev Shabbat, to boot, is a chilul H'! Maybe H' is telling them something, Duh!
